Additional info

  • It can get very hot during the day, but this is still a high mountain area it gets cold during nights.

Rain is extremely exceptional these periods.

  • We recommend using 42mm or wider tires. The terrain is quite smooth to ride, but you can definitely use this comfort on certain sections. Considering the long distance and many hours on the bike, this is also not an unnecessary luxury.

An 11/42 - 38 gearing is sufficient for this trip.

  • There are 2 support vehicles. One always stays nearby the other provides logistical help. Your luggage is always transported by the vehicle. You just need to bring some snacks and drinks on the bike.

  • The surface is usually rideable. A few rougher sections here and there. Most of the altimeters are moderate, but there are also short very steep sections.

A nice mix of gravel and quiet tarmac roads.

  • We recommend to do this trip in early Spring and early Autumn. To avoid the the hot summer and cold winter.
